“At the Bottom of the Ocean Where the Darkness Meets the Stars the Octopus will Tell the Story of a thing once called the HUMAN being... “

 “HUMAN”

A NEW WORK CREATED BY NEHPRII AMENII

Told through the windows of a sunken submarine, using images of the human heart, and a hybrid of puppetry styles--HUMAN is a 60-minute interactive multimedia performance installation for children and families of all ages comprised of projection design, sound design, dance, and puppetry, that explores what it means to be HUMAN.

In a world where children are interacting more and more with machines than people, how do we ensure that humanity doesn’t go extinct? How do we define and teach HUMAN-ness in a world that is becoming more mechanical and robotic than human? How do we teach the difference and how do we emulate for young people and each other what it truly means to be a HUMAN being?
